My husband, Adam, and I have an intelligent, friendly 12-year-old son, an active, happy 9-year-old son, and a beautiful Samoyed named Charm. Adam is my ROCK, my foundation and a REALIST. We delight in each day as we experience life with our children. Parenthood has truly been beyond our wildest dreams. 

Here is our story... Amy has a rewarding career in education as a Seventh Grade Teacher of Family and Consumer Sciences. She enjoys teaching and challenging the children that enter her classroom each year. She is also active with many volunteer organizations and an advocate for children. The Vista School & Warwick School PTO – Parent/Teacher Organizations are helping hands to our schools.  Being part of our child’s education is important to us.  Gotta love the Parent Teacher Organizations!!

Surfers Healing – Aric has participated in this Surf Camp for 2 years.  What an incredible experience to stand on a beach and watch hundreds of volunteers work with children with autism.  Aric has an experience that no one else in our family has – he surfed!

Although we have a lot of fun and stay busy, it was our vision to create a family business.

When it was time to start a family of our own, Adam left the business world to stay home with the boys. This allowed him the opportunity to coach (Penn State BERKS), something he is passionate about and very good at PLUS it gave the boys time at home with a parent instead of day care. This was an easy decision for our family.

We wanted to create a home where someone was always there to cheer on our children as they reached milestones, be a part of those "once in a life time moments", and have a family business that we could all grow and learn and prosper together.

With this goal set, we were determined to find a way to allow Amy to teach, earn a great family income and still be with our children. We had read numerous stories of people doing just that... living a balanced life.

We made the decision to join these successful home business pioneers. We made a commitment to educate ourselves on what was out there, select something that would work for our family, and apply the time, dedication and perseverance that we knew it would take to achieve the rewards and incredible lifestyle we desired. The Candle Business was not our first stop along this journey.

We wanted something in an industry that is fast-growing, recession proof, and that people use and want. We also wanted something that would provide an on-going residual income. You know, something that would pay us over and over for the work that we did at the start!

Along this journey, we discovered a few things about ourselves. We have a strong entrepreneurial spirit that began to drive our passion for success and we also had a growing fascination with the Internet, its potential, and the idea that one could make an incredible income online while at home in your favorite pair of blue jeans!

We also began to realize the power of owning your own business. It empowers you to take control of your time, make decision based on your values, and design a lifestyle through your definition of success.

One thing we know for sure, the Internet is here to stay and it has made the reality of having your own successful home based business better than ever!

So, we began our research into achieving success in a home business, and quite honestly, haven't stopped. Remember we represent a teacher, a coach and life-long learners. We investigated a lot of things, even tried a few with moderate success. These were valuable experiences, which helped us learn how to choose the right company, find the right team, build a successful business, and to teach others to do the same.

Our family business started in the Fall of 2004. Amy attended a small Holiday Stop and Shop with her personalized hand-made baby blankets and (at the time) jewelry businesses. There were a lot of customers, but not many buyers at her booth. You see, the customers here were of the Mennonite faith. They loved her blankets, but they told her they make their own. They also do not wear jewelry. She used this time as a learning experience. Listen to what the customers are asking for. She heard many of them asking about soy or alternative candles, they loved the idea that these candles were soot-free and cleaned up with soap and water.  What are they? she asked. She came home and did research on this product.  Adam said, "I could do candles!" I guess the rest is history!

We researched and decided that even if we didn’t make money with this company, we would receive a product at a great discount and hey, we were already spending money each month on candles for gifts and personal use anyway.  So we jumped in with both feet.

We ordered product immediately and did a craft show within 2 weeks.  They loved the candles and we made money.  We receive training that continues still today.  We are overwhelmed by how much there is to learn and the people and parents we have become!   We want to share all of this information with you!
